# What is an email tracker?

An email tracker adds a pixel inside the emails. This pixel is actually an image. It is loaded when the recipient opens the email. Thanks to this small transparent pixel, you can know when your email opens.

A pixel tracker can collect other data such as:
* Device (found from the user agent)
* Browser
* Location (found from the IP address)
* Email opening time
